About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Sterile Compounding Specialist to join our team at Triangle Compounding Pharmacy. This is a full-time position requiring 40 hours of work per week, including Monday through Friday and 1/2 Saturday per month.

As a Sterile Compounding Specialist, you will be responsible for collaborating with physicians to develop personalized formulations for patients. You will also read and review incoming prescriptions for accuracy, suitability to patient, and potential interactions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Counsel patients on side effects, dosage, specific storage needs, and interactions with other medication.
  • Help oversee management of chemical inventory.
  • Prepare and verify sterile compounds according to USP standards.
  • Supervise pharmacy technicians in compounding procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation.
Requirements
  • Must hold a current NC state pharmacist license (Additional state licenses are a bonus).
  • 1-3 years of compounding, hospital, or home infusion experience.
  • Pharmaceutical calculation expertise in relation to pharmaceutical formulations such as capsules, creams, suppositories, injections.
  • Knowledge of USP 795, 797, 800.
  • Knowledge of cGMP a plus.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • The ability to multitask and shift priorities, as needed.
