Job Summary:

In partnership with unit leadership, the Surgical Technologist Coordinator Lead is responsible for the effective and efficient leadership of the assigned surgical service(s). This role participates in decision making and problem solving to assure high quality patient care and surgeon satisfaction. The Surgical Technologist Coordinator Lead demonstrates organizing and coordinating skills, as well as superior knowledge and expert practice while actively working in surgical procedures during scheduled work hours. This role serves as a role model and assists the Surgeon, RN, and Anesthesiologist in the care of patients in the Operating Room.

Responsibilities:
  • Assists in evaluation and acquisition of surgical equipment, instruments, and supplies.
  • Participates in decision making and problem solving to assure high quality patient care and surgeon satisfaction.
  • Demonstrates organizing and coordinating skills.
  • Assists the Surgeon, RN, and Anesthesiologist in the care of patients in the Operating Room.
Requirements:
  • A minimum of 2 years Surgical Technologist experience is required.
  • Two years of surgical technologist experience in designated specialty is required to acquire level of expertise needed to perform the role.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Post high school education, certification, or diploma required.
  • Completion of a Surgical Technologist program, completion of Military Operating Room Specialist course, or the Froedtert Health sponsored apprentice II program required.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Demonstrates advanced knowledge and skills in major operative surgical specialties.
  • Demonstrates advanced knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and potential complications for procedures performed.
  • Expert knowledge of specialty instruments and equipment.
