We are seeking a highly skilled Charge Nurse Preceptor to join our team at Northside Hospital. As a Charge Nurse Preceptor, you will be responsible for coordinating daily activities and distributing work in the area during scheduled shifts, while also acting as a professional educator and resource for new employees, demonstrating clinical expertise and competence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate daily activities and distribute work in the area during scheduled shifts.
  • Act as a professional educator and resource for new employees, demonstrating clinical expertise and competence.
  • Set priorities based on the situation at hand, and is a combination of direct patient care, management (charge), and education (preceptor) roles with responsibility for a unit during an eight (8) to twelve (12) hour shift.
  • Work with a unit-specific patient population, providing care and/or services to pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.
Requirements
  • Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in skills applicable to designated area within probationary period.
  • Demonstrated ability to assume Charge Nurse responsibilities and clinical expertise in area.
  • Successful completion of a management course prior to appointment, or within six (6) months of employment.
  • Two (2) years RN experience or One (1) as a RN AND Two (2) as a LPN.
  • Two (2) years recent experience in specialty.
  • Certified in cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR).
  • Completion of the Charge-Preceptor course at Northside.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certification in area of specialty.
