Job Summary

The GSE Mechanic is responsible for troubleshooting and repairing gasoline engines, diesel engines, automotive electrical systems, hydraulic systems, and drive train. This role requires working knowledge of Detroit, Cat, Cummins, and Perkins diesel engines, as well as the ability to troubleshoot and repair wiring on automotive units. The incumbent will work in a safe manner, eliminating waste and delivering a quality product on time.

Key Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and repair gasoline engines, diesel engines, automotive electrical systems, hydraulic systems, and drive train
  • Work within budget and meet HAECO, FAA, and customers' standards of quality
  • Perform tasks in a safe manner, eliminating waste and delivering a quality product on time
  • Monitor self and others to assure all duties are performed within the guidelines as specified by the HAECO Team Member Safety Manual
  • Detect problems and implement corrections on diesel, gasoline engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Three years experience as fleet maintenance or automotive/diesel engines
  • Valid Driver's License required
  • Familiarity with hand tools and testing
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics and blueprints
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision
  • Normal mental and visual attention along with manual coordination for job duties
  • Normal or corrected hearing and vision
  • Sense of smell to detect odors for safety purposes
  • Physical abilities such as standing, walking, climbing, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
