Key Responsibilities- Teaching and Instruction: Provide high-quality instruction in Social Work courses, using the approved course syllabus as a guide.
- Student Learning and Evaluation: Facilitate student learning and perform evaluations of student learning for all assigned classes.
- Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with faculty, administration, and staff to support the students, strategic plan, goals, and business operations of the college.
- Professional Development: Stay abreast of current developments in the teaching discipline, including scholarship, creative research, and disciplinary activities.
- Administrative Tasks: Maintain availability for meetings with students and colleagues, respond promptly to the Dean's requests, and submit all requested paperwork timely and completely.
- Master's Degree: A Master's degree in Social Work or a qualifying field from a regionally accredited college or university.
- Qualifying Fields and Courses: Qualifying fields and courses include Social Work.
- Preferred Qualifications: A Doctoral degree in Social Work or a qualifying field from a regionally accredited college or university, or a Master's degree in any field with a minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in Social Work or a qualifying field from a regionally accredited college or university.
- Interpersonal Skills: Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of individuals and constituencies in a diverse community.
- Computer Skills: Strong computer skills, including college database management, word processing, creating spreadsheets, email, and the internet.
- Confidentiality: Knowledge of confidentiality statutes and policies as they apply to FERPA.
