Job Overview

Park State Bank is seeking a highly skilled Accounting Analyst to join our team. This role will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of financial transactions, reconciliations, and reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Reconcile general ledger accounts and internal deposit accounts to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
  • Review daily GL transactions to ensure compliance with FDICIA requirements.
  • Resolve balancing issues and escalate unresolved issues to the Controller.
  • Serve as backup to the Accounts Payable function.
  • Assist in preparing quarterly call reports and annual summary of deposits.
  • Contribute to the timely completion of bank regulatory reports, including state and federal tax returns and 1099s.
  • Reconcile bond portfolios and interest rate hedges.
  • Prepare daily and monthly public entity pledging reports.
  • Collaborate with the Bond Portfolio Manager and Payment Operations Department on trade activity.
  • Reconcile investor servicing portfolios to ensure data accuracy and complete monthly reporting.
  • Troubleshoot system-related issues with support teams.
  • Assist with departmental processes and procedures.
  • Monitor the general ledger for potential accounting misstatements or errors.
  • Report any identified material errors or suspicious activity to the Controller.
  • Perform special projects, including research, problem-solving, and analysis.
  • Assist with audit preparation and gathering information for regulatory examinations.
  • Maintain adherence to financial and accounting internal controls.
  • Recommend cost control measures and revenue enhancement strategies.

Secondary Responsibilities

  • Cross-train in other positions within the Accounting/Finance Department as directed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of accounting experience or equivalent work experience in finance or accounts payable.

Education

  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance from a two- or four-year college or university, or equivalent work experience.

Salary

$55,000 - $65,000 per year, depending on experience.

Work Environment

This role will be based in an indoor office setting, requiring occasional movement to access filing cabinets and office equipment. The employee will have access to sensitive information, so maintaining confidentiality is essential.
