About the Opportunity
Archway Physician Recruitment is proud to present a Hematology Oncology Physician opportunity in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. Our client, a reputable health system, is seeking a skilled Medical Oncology and Hematology physician to join their team.
Practice Details
The practice supports a region with five hospitals and three cancer center locations. The primary location is a 180-bed inpatient hospital with an 18-chair chemotherapy unit. The practice includes a mix of medical oncology and malignant and benign hematology, working in concert with onsite radiation oncology, surgical, radiology, and pathology colleagues via weekly interdisciplinary tumor boards.
Collaborative Team Environment
The practice offers a collaborative team environment, with opportunities to engage with clinic tumor-specific groups through eConsults, presentations at enterprise tumor boards, and engagement with aligned research opportunities. Internal teaching opportunities exist for rotating medical students, onsite Eau Claire Family Medicine residents, and clinic Rochester Hematology or Medical Oncology Fellows.
Supportive Staff
The practice has a supportive staff of four full-time Hem/Med Onc physicians, two part-time Hem/Med Onc physicians, three full-time Nurse Practitioners, one full-time Hem/Med Onc Ambulatory Pharmacist, two onsite Genetic Counselors, clinic and infusion RNs, Certified Medical Assistants, and additional support services such as Social Work, Dietician, Chaplain, Financial Counselors, and Research Coordinators.
Call and Clinical Responsibilities
The physician will be responsible for call, which will be 1:5, equally divided among providers for weekdays, weekends, and holidays over a one-year period. Outpatient responsibilities include 4.5 clinic workdays per week, with one afternoon off per week or one full day off every other week. Inpatient responsibilities include hematology/oncology patients admitted by the Hospitalist team, with consultations by oncology/hematology and support of inpatient chemotherapy patients as necessary. Outreach responsibilities include weekly outreach one day per week.
Flexibility and Work-Life Balance
The practice offers flexibility and work-life balance, with the possibility of a reduced clinical FTE between 0.8 and 1.0 to support research or educational endeavors.
