Cornhusker800 has been a leader in the manufacturing and repair of Commodity Hopper Trailers since 1967. We are seeking dedicated individuals who take pride in hands-on work and possess the skills necessary for trailer repairs.
This role offers a starting wage of $20 per hour, with operational hours from Monday to Thursday, 7 AM to 5 PM, and 7 AM to 12 PM on Fridays. Overtime is guaranteed weekly, and employees enjoy early dismissal on Fridays.
We provide comprehensive benefits including full-time health coverage, 401K plans, holiday pay, vacation time, and various employee incentives. A review and potential pay increase will occur after 90 days of employment.
Successful candidates will demonstrate strong attention to detail, the ability to follow procedures, and a readiness to learn essential skills for the job. Mechanical aptitude is crucial, as the role involves using basic hand and air tools for effective service work. Repairs will be conducted on trailers, aluminum truck dump bodies, and rock pups, akin to auto body work without the use of Bondo.
Consistent job performance and productivity will enable you to increase your earnings. Additional compensation is tied to job performance and reliability.
The position encompasses a variety of repair tasks, ranging from routine maintenance to more intricate jobs, such as disassembling and reassembling components according to established procedures. A common task includes changing semi-trailer brake pads.
New employees will collaborate closely with experienced team members under the guidance of the service department manager. While training will be provided, prior experience in mechanical work, welding, and service tasks is advantageous.
We are committed to training the right candidate who shows potential for growth within our company. It is common for individuals to lack prior knowledge of the specific repairs we perform, which is why we focus on developing talent.
Qualified applicants should possess strong attention to detail, the ability to follow work orders accurately, lift up to 50 lbs. without assistance, read a tape measure to the 1/16” mark efficiently, and take direction while working collaboratively.
As a locally owned independent business, we foster a team-oriented atmosphere where every employee is valued and recognized as part of our family-owned operation.
