Your responsibilities will include identifying and resolving nutrition-related challenges, educating patients and their families about dietary practices, and meticulously documenting all relevant details.
  • Evaluates patient diagnoses and formulates nutritional care strategies based on established dietetic principles.
  • Conducts comprehensive nutritional assessments and collaborates with the healthcare team to optimize patient nutrition.
  • Recognizes nutrition-related challenges and seeks assistance or referrals for complex cases. Issues therapeutic diet orders within the professional scope.
  • Tracks and evaluates patients' nutritional progress.
  • Communicates clearly with patients, families, and medical personnel, providing essential information to management.
  • Educates and advises patients, families, caregivers, and staff on nutritional matters prior to discharge or during outpatient consultations.
  • Contributes as a member of a multidisciplinary healthcare team. Works with nutritional services to ensure the availability of necessary food items and sources appropriate formulas. Guides dietetic interns and reviews nutritional assessments and diet orders.
  • Records all relevant nutritional information in patients' medical records in accordance with policy. Documents daily charges for services rendered, procedures performed, and time allocated for each.
  • Participates in nutritional case studies, departmental training, and other educational opportunities, maintaining records of continuing education credits.
  • Actively engages in Medical Team rounds.
  • Performs additional responsibilities as required.
