Position Overview We are looking for a
Senior Histology Specialist to join our
Safety Assessment division.
Work Schedule:
Monday - Friday, 7:00am - 3:30pm
The
Senior Histology Specialist will autonomously execute advanced histology tasks, prepare and evaluate documentation, conduct quality control assessments of study data, and provide histology expertise to colleagues and visitors as required.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Execute advanced histology techniques (slide quality control, special stains, thin/thick sections, immunohistochemistry, and serial/step sectioning) independently.
+ Assess documentation related to quality control requirements.
+ Draft responses to audits, deviations, and other documentation arising from internal and external data reviews.
+ Conduct method development experiments, troubleshoot technical issues, and propose solutions.
+ Prepare study-specific procedural documentation.
+ Mentor junior staff members.
+ Serve as a resource for pathology-related study information, which may involve attending study meetings and/or leading discussions.
+ May independently perform basic necropsy tasks (dissection, tissue collection/preservation, fresh tissue trimming, sample collection).
+ May assist with specialized necropsy tasks (tissue collection for special procedures, perfusion fixation, fetal evaluation, specialized dissection, neurodissection, photography, etc.).
+ Carry out all other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications: + High school diploma or G.E.D. required.
+ Bachelor's degree (B.A./B.S.) or equivalent in a biological science preferred.
+ Minimum of 3 years of experience in a pathology laboratory.
+ HT (ASCP) or HTL (ASCP) certification preferred.
Compensation: The salary range for this role is $64,700 - $70,000 per year. Please note that compensation may vary based on factors such as experience, skills, education, and certifications.
