Aquatics Director

The YMCA of Greater Grand Rapids is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Aquatics Director to lead our aquatic programs and ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for our members and participants.

• Administer swim lessons and aquatic programs, ensuring a high level of quality and safety.
• Schedule aquatic classes, programs, and staff, ensuring efficient use of resources.
• Develop and promote programs with local schools, mailings, and press releases, increasing community engagement.
• Prepare and distribute rosters and schedules for instructors, ensuring timely and accurate information.
• Implement preschool movement programs, promoting physical activity and development.
• Audit payroll reports, ensuring accurate and timely payment.
• Develop and implement strategies to increase participation, groups, and programs, driving growth and revenue.
• Administer emergency First aid and Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), ensuring a safe environment.
• Handle parent/member complaints, providing excellent customer service.

• Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university, with one to three years of recreation, pool management, lifeguard, swim instructor, or water park experience.
• Past supervision experience preferred, with ability to demonstrate aquatic skills and react quickly to emergency situations.
• Working knowledge of a computer and experience with a variety of software applications, including Microsoft Office and Google Suite.
• Ability to interact with people from all ethnic backgrounds, ages, and lifestyles, promoting diversity and inclusion.
