About the Role

Advocate Aurora Health is seeking a skilled Radiology Technologist to join our team in Elgin, Illinois.

This is a full-time position that requires a strong commitment to delivering high-quality patient care and maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of radiographic principles and be able to operate x-ray equipment to produce high-quality images.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Operating x-ray equipment to produce radiographs of designated portions of the body as ordered by a physician
  • Accountable for the performance and documentation of all diagnostic procedures utilizing proper technical parameters to produce quality studies
  • Knowledgeable in the safe use, maneuverability, and operation of all general radiography, portable, and fluoro equipment
  • Proficient in the performance of general diagnostic procedures, including general fluoroscopy procedures, if applicable
  • Adheres to infection prevention, isolation, and sterile techniques as it applies in patient handling and delivery of care
  • Adheres to ALARA principles in performance of exams to reduce exposure to self, the patient, and others
  • Utilizes proper patient identification to ensure the correct exam is performed on the correct patient at the correct time
  • Obtains and records pertinent patient history, explains the procedure to the patient in a manner to ensure understanding, ensures patient comfort during performance of the exam
  • Adherence to department standards of radiographic quality
  • Reviews radiographs to ensure optimum quality
  • Reports environmental/equipment problems to appropriate resource personnel
  • Performs required computer function for RIS/HIS systems
  • Labels all radiographs appropriately following department's established criteria and standards

Requirements include:

  • Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology
  • IEMA Accreditation in Radiologic Technology
  • ARRT (RT) Certification or Certificate Eligible
