The Licensed Practical Nurse/Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN/LPN) plays a vital role in delivering high-quality, patient-centered care by performing a variety of delegated basic patient care services. In collaboration with the Registered Nurse (RN) and other members of the care team, the LPN/LVN provides individualized, comprehensive care consistent with the scope and standards of the specialty.
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct, evidence-based care to patients as directed by the physician or RN.
- Assist with procedures, monitoring, or other functions as directed.
- Perform lab and procedural tests within the LVN/LPN scope of practice, after demonstrating competency.
- Document the administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner.
- Serve as a resource to department staff, students, and volunteers to help deliver quality patient care.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support
- Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurse (LPN/LVN) Associate Degree in Nursing or RN Diploma
- 1+ years applicable experience required
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred
- Care tool documentation
- IV Certification as mandated by state of practice

Medical City Fort Worth serves as a tertiary referral center for Tarrant County and many counties within a 90-mile radius. We offer comprehensive diagnostic and treatment services. Our specialties include cardiac care, neurosciences, and oncology. We have surgical services, orthopedics, kidney transplants, and emergency care. We offer three ER locations, including two off-campus ER locations in Burleson and White Settlement. Medical City Fort Worth is a designated comprehensive stroke center. We are a Joint Commission chest pain center. We are a part of the Medical City network of hospitals.
