About the Role

Vallen Distribution, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Customer Service Representative to join our Integrated Supply Chain team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional service to our customers by purchasing products, goods, and materials that meet our exceptional standards of price, quality, timing, and reliability of supply.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform procurement activities to ensure customer demand is met and aligned with our purchasing strategies.
  • Research and assess vendors and products to ensure compliance with specifications and meet customer quality, pricing, and delivery standards.
  • Monitor product quality and timeliness, coordinating returns and replacements as needed.
  • Communicate with vendors to resolve delivery and quality issues.
  • Maintain relationships with suppliers, vendors, and assigned customers.
  • Identify opportunities for cost savings and document results.
  • Follow all Vallen and customer Standard Operating Procedures.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent, 1+ years of experience in procurement preferred.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Computer skills and aptitude to learn ERP and Inventory Management applications.
  • Self-starter with ability to work independently.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficiency with MS-Office products.
Work Environment

Long periods of time working on a computer and performing repetitive key-boarding activities. May be in a manufacturing environment with exposure to dirt, smoke, heat, cold, etc. Safety protection may be required while in the customer's facility. Overtime hours may be required with little advanced notice.
