About the Job:
Tesla's New Programs Engineering team seeks a skilled mechanical design engineer to work on the front-end of vehicle design and development. The successful candidate will be responsible for defining prototype manufacturing strategies, developing designs using CAD and FEA, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to create prototypes for engineering development.

This role requires a strong background in mechanical design engineering, with experience in designing and building electro-mechanical systems. The ideal candidate will have a degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience, as well as a minimum of 2 years of experience in a product development environment.

Responsibilities:
• Define prototype manufacturing strategies and key design criteria
• Develop designs using CAD and FEA, building prototypes to test and refine them over time
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create prototypes for engineering development
• Take ownership of vehicle subsystems for concept prototype and mule builds

Requirements:
• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience
• A minimum of 2 years of experience in a product development environment
• Strong background in mechanical design engineering
• Proficiency in CAD and FEA, as well as hands-on experience in designing and building electro-mechanical systems
• Excellent communication, resourcefulness, and time management skills
