Job Summary:

Air Methods is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Pilot Rotor Wing Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our flight operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient transportation of medical crew and patients to receiving hospitals within an assigned operational area.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate Air Methods aircraft in a safe and legal manner, adhering to Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR), Aeronautical Information Manual (AIM), and General Operations Manual guidelines.
  • Conduct thorough pre-flight checks to verify the aircraft's airworthiness and complete the Daily Flight Log.
  • Final authority on aircraft operations and passenger safety, ensuring compliance with Air Methods policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with the medical flight team to ensure they are familiar with the aircraft's medical systems and interior.
  • Complete required documentation and participate in Air Methods meetings, activities, and community outreach.

Requirements:

  • Associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school, with two to five years of related experience and/or training.
  • Commercial & Instrument Rating for the category and class of aircraft, with an ATP rating in category meeting this requirement.
  • First OR Second Class FAA Medical certificate required.
  • Ability to conduct detailed flight planning with little notice to exacting standards.
  • Regular scheduled attendance and adherence to Air Methods employment practices and policies.
