Heavy Truck Mechanic

At Mid-Atlantic Waste Systems, we're seeking a skilled Heavy Truck Mechanic to join our team. As a Heavy Truck Mechanic, you'll be responsible for ensuring our equipment is well-maintained and safe for our customers. Your duties will include using diagnostic equipment to research and complete repairs, completing preventative maintenance repairs, and maintaining paperwork/electronic documentation of work performed.
Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on heavy trucks and equipment
- Use diagnostic equipment to research and complete repairs
- Complete preventative maintenance repairs, including replacing or rotating tires and completing vehicle component lubrication and replacement
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of work performed
- Partner with the service manager to learn new skills and stay up-to-date on the latest techniques and technologies
Requirements:
- 2 years' experience with hydraulic pumps, cylinders, valves, and hoses
- 2 years' MIG and stick welding experience
- 2 years' automotive electrical experience
- 2 years' diesel engine repair experience (preferred)
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to frequently kneel, bend, squat, push, pull, and reach
- Ability to lift and move more than 50 lbs. without assistance
- Ability to get into and out of various vehicles without assistance
- Pass a DOT physical, including drug screening
- Own tools
