Job Title: Part-Time Dietary Aide

We are seeking a Part-time Dietary Aide to join our team at ISH Dining Services.

Job Summary:

The Dietary Aide will work under the direction and supervision of the Director of Food Service or the Assistant Food Service Director, assisting in the preparation and service of food, and maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the preparation of meals, snacks, and beverages, ensuring high-quality food service to our residents.
  • Prepare and assemble trays, clean and store supplies and equipment, and maintain a clean and organized kitchen area.
  • Transport food trays and carts to and from resident floors, ensuring timely and efficient service.
  • Follow proper cleaning techniques and preventative maintenance schedules to maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment.
  • Handle, store, and dispose of food supplies, and prepare food in accordance with department procedures and state and federal regulations.
  • Follow facility policies and procedures for infection control, using personal protective equipment when necessary.
  • Inspect food service work areas for evidence of rodents or pests, safety hazards, housekeeping, and maintenance problems, and report any issues to the Director of Food Service.
  • Communicate with the Director of Food Service or Assistant Director of Food Service throughout the shift to ensure the best possible service to our residents.
  • Assist with preparation for state inspections, attend survey training, and interact with state surveyors as instructed by the supervisor.
  • Attend in-service education as assigned, and apply the information to job tasks.
  • Report any injuries to self or others to the supervisor immediately.
Requirements:

The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced kitchen environment. A high school diploma or equivalent is required, and previous experience in food service or a related field is preferred.
