Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM - 6:00 PM
Compensation: Salaried or hourly position, paid bi-weekly
Qualifications Required:
- Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathy (D.O.) from an accredited medical institution in the U.S. or Canada.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).
- Board Certification: Must be board eligible or board certified as per requirements. Current board certification in Aerospace Medicine is highly preferred. If not certified, proof of completion of a medical residency program and a minimum of 3 years of U.S. military Flight Surgeon experience is necessary.
- Experience: Must meet clinical competency requirements as specified in service-specific credentialing guidelines. A minimum of 35 hours of patient care in the past year is required, along with at least 3 years of experience in the last decade as a privileged flight surgeon at a U.S. military installation. Experience should include U.S. military medical standards for special operational evaluations, aeromedical disposition, and primary care for active-duty personnel and their families.
Job Responsibilities:
- Deliver healthcare services to beneficiaries assigned to the Flight Medicine Clinic and Occupational Health Clinic, performing both primary care and occupational health duties.
- Provide comprehensive health maintenance and medical care, including preventive, behavioral, occupational, and community health services.
- May serve as the primary care manager (PCM) for a panel of patients, responsible for their overall health and wellness.
- Prepare necessary records and reports in accordance with established procedures.
- Participate in relevant patient care meetings and professional activities as required.
- Credentialed civilian flight medicine physicians may respond to emergencies, including HAZMAT and in-flight situations, with after-hours coverage as needed.
