Pharmacy Technician Job Description

As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a vital role in supporting our pharmacy team to provide excellent patient care and service. Your primary responsibility will be to assist pharmacists and other healthcare professionals in preparing and dispensing medications, as well as maintaining accurate records and inventory.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications, including entering prescription information into the computer system.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of patient prescriptions, inventory, and other relevant information.
  • Retrieve medication from inventory and prepare prescription labels.
  • Place medication into prescription containers and complete paperwork related to filling prescriptions.
  • Assist with maintaining the pharmacy department by keeping it clean and organized.
  • Participate in inventory management processes, including order review, inventory returns, restocking shelves, and physical inventory preparation.
  • Administer Rite Aid programs, including FlavoRx and Living More.

Requirements:

  • H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
