Job Title: Registered Nurse III

At Houston Methodist Cypress Hospital, we are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse III to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide professional direct patient nursing care to a diverse patient population and serve as an expert in a specialty.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct nursing assessments, assist with exams and treatment, and maintain medical records.
  • Assist in coaching and mentoring department staff in areas of clinical and professional practice.
  • Role model compassionate communication with physicians and the interprofessional healthcare team.
  • Assume leadership responsibilities with high-level contributions at the bedside, unit, service line, and across the institution.
  • Lead unit and shared governance activities, serve as charge nurse as needed, and assess unit needs related to practice and improvement opportunities.
  • Serve as a clinical resource for both unit and hospital staff and coordinate unit and hospital-wide education in partnership with management.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited School of Nursing.
  • Two years of nursing experience in a healthcare environment, one year in the clinical field for which you will be working.
  • Registered Nurse - Texas State Licensure and/or Compact State Licensure within 60 days.
  • Basic Life Support (AHA) certification.
  • Magnet - ANCC Recognized Certification.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Demonstrates expertise in operating the electronic medical record.
  • Acts as an effective change agent.
  • Uses therapeutic communication to establish a relationship with patients, families, and interprofessional team to collaborate on the plan of care.
  • Demonstrates proficient time management skills.
  • Uses critical thinking skills and clinical judgment to work autonomously as defined by the Nurse Practice Act.
