Job Summary

The Intake I (IQA) Associate plays a crucial role in providing professional phone assistance to members, providers, and other stakeholders through the criteria-based prior authorization process. This position requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to maintain accurate and timely documentation of all requests.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide exceptional customer service to members, providers, and other stakeholders through phone interactions.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all requests, including clinical questions and judgment calls.
  • Transfer clinical questions and judgment calls to nurses or pharmacists as needed.
  • Assist with other duties such as outbound calls, monitoring/responding to inquiries in mailboxes, and other tasks assigned by the leadership team.
Requirements
  • 2 years of experience in a customer service or healthcare-related role.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a high-pressure, time-sensitive environment.
  • Ability to project a professional business image through phone interactions and internal communications.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associates degree in Business, Accounting, or a related field.
  • Basic experience with MSWord and MSExcel.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology and knowledge of medical coding.
