Job Title: Veterinary Assistant

Hillside Animal Clinic is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Assistant to join our team. As a Veterinary Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional care to our patients and their owners.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist veterinarians and veterinary technicians with appointments, preparing patients for surgery and minor procedures, and providing post-operative care.
  • Restrain animals safely and humanely, and obtain accurate vital signs and medical histories.
  • Collect and prepare laboratory samples, such as fecal, urine, and ear cytologies.
  • Care for and maintain medical equipment, including laboratory machines, surgical packs, and anesthesia machines.
  • Provide high-quality client communication on patient updates and questions.
Requirements:
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Knowledge of medical procedures and animal handling.
  • Strong communication skills, good judgment, and ability to manage stressful situations.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Cornerstone experience preferred.
