The Palms of Largo is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Early Childhood Educator to join our team. As a Preschool Teacher, you will be responsible for implementing a high-quality educational program that meets the emotional, physical, intellectual, and social needs of our young students.
Key Responsibilities- Plan and implement a developmentally appropriate program that promotes the growth and development of our preschoolers.
- Write and post weekly lesson plans, and submit a copy to the director one week in advance.
- Post curriculum information, schedules, and menus for parents.
- Encourage children's involvement in group activities and tailor the program to meet their individual needs.
- Supervise class outings and field trips, and ensure the safety and well-being of our students.
- Record and report significant individual and group behavior, and keep colleagues and the director informed.
- Maintain accurate records of children's attendance and progress.
- Evaluate each child's progress, and communicate with parents through regular conferences.
- Establish and maintain good communication with parents, and provide a nurturing environment for our students.
- Supervise and ensure the safety and well-being of our students at all times.
- Train and supervise assistant teachers, aides, and substitutes.
- Model positive behavior and discipline techniques, and provide guidance to colleagues.
- Work collaboratively with program staff to solve problems and achieve goals.
- Responsible for educational resources, equipment, and classroom atmosphere.
- Maintain a clean and safe classroom environment.
- Be flexible and adaptable to meet the needs of our program.
- Certificate or degree in child development or a related field.
- Experience in teaching in an early childhood classroom, supervising staff, and managing a child care center.
- Leadership and communication skills.
- CPR certification within 90 days of employment.
