We are seeking a highly skilled Water Treatment Plant Operator to join our team at Harnett Co. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating and maintaining the water treatment plant, ensuring the delivery of safe and clean drinking water to our community.
Key Responsibilities- Monitor and control the water treatment process, including chemical feed systems and levels.
- Operate and maintain equipment, including pumps, gauges, and SCADA systems.
- Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of plant equipment and machinery.
- Prepare and submit reports on plant operations and maintenance.
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure the smooth operation of the plant.
- Perform laboratory tests and analyses to ensure water quality meets regulatory standards.
- Respond to emergencies and take corrective action as needed.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- No experience required, but a valid North Carolina driver's license is necessary.
- Possession of a NC Surface Water Treatment Plant Operator: Level C Certification within one (1) year of hire date.
- Knowledge of water treatment principles and practices.
- Experience with SCADA systems and laboratory equipment.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
The Water Treatment Plant Operator will work in a plant environment, with regular exposure to chemicals and equipment. The ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods is required.
