Job Summary

Benesch is seeking a Senior Site Civil Engineer to join our Land Development Design team in Charlotte. As a Technical Manager, you will oversee staff, mentor technical skills, and contribute to project management. Your responsibilities will include managing technical project elements, communicating progress and issues, and participating in professional organizations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide guidance and direction in technical project elements, ensuring accuracy and effectiveness of analyses and designs.
  • Communicate technical progress and issues to Project Managers, facilitating informed decision-making and proactive problem-solving.
  • Train and mentor staff, imparting technical knowledge and skills and fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth.
  • Perform, review, and manage technical analyses and designs, ensuring completeness and compliance with quality standards.
  • Actively participate in professional organizations, enhancing personal expertise and contributing to industry advancement.
  • Assist with business development efforts and proposal development, leveraging technical expertise to secure new opportunities and drive company growth.
  • Identify opportunities for implementation of technical processes, standardizing work plans and enhancing efficiency and consistency in project execution.
  • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert on projects, providing specialized knowledge and insights to optimize project outcomes and deliver added value to clients.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • Professional Engineering License in the state of North Carolina.
  • Demonstrated minimum of 12 years of experience in the site civil land development industry with proven expertise in developing project plans, obtaining permits, and observing construction activities.
  • Previous experience in AutoCAD civil 3D and various design software for land development projects.
  • Showcase strong analytical and problem-solving skills, enabling efficient decision-making and resolution of complex technical challenges.
  • Demonstrate effective oral and written communication skills to interface with stakeholders, fostering clear and transparent communication channels and promoting collaboration.
