We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Nurse Practitioner to join our team at AdvantageCare Physicians (ACPNY) in Brooklyn, NY. As a Gynecology Nurse Practitioner, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and collaborating with our obstetrics and gynecology physicians to deliver exceptional healthcare services.
Key Responsibilities- Obtain and document patient history, conducting relevant physical exams and evaluating patients to provide accurate diagnoses and treatment plans.
- Treat routine gynecological problems, such as vaginal yeast infections, bacterial vaginosis, and urinary tract infections.
- Perform pap smears, screen for cervical cancer, and test for sexually transmitted diseases.
- Diagnose and treat pelvic conditions, including breast exams and providing contraception services.
- Prescribe medication in accordance with New York State and federal law, ordering laboratory, radiological, and special examinations or tests as needed.
- Instruct and counsel patients on therapeutic regimens, collaborating with other clinicians and staff members to ensure continuity of care.
- Perform other job-related duties and be willing to be trained in gynecological procedures.
- Nurse Practitioner: Master of Science degree in Nursing (MSN)
- Graduate of a Nurse Practitioner education program registered by the New York State Education Department.
- Certification as a Nurse Practitioner from a New York State approved accrediting body - American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP), or be eligible for board certification.
- At least two years of experience in obstetrics and gynecology care.
- Current, unrestricted New York State license or eligibility for licensure.
- Active Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) registration or eligibility for registration.
- Active Medicare/Medicaid Enrollment or eligibility to enroll.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) or Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required, but both strongly preferred.
- Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
- Comfortable with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system and Microsoft Office.
