Role Overview:

As a Field Technician, your primary responsibility will be to manage the installation of our broadband and cable television services. You will operate a company vehicle, visiting customer residences and representing Mediacom with professionalism. Your role will encompass a variety of tasks including installations, service modifications, additional outlet setups, service disconnections, payment collection, and addressing any specific customer requests.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct customer installations from the tap to the antenna terminals on equipment in various dwelling types.
  • Perform new connections, reconnections, and service modifications as requested.
  • Evaluate picture quality and ensure service delivery meets standards.
  • Utilize hand tools and power tools effectively in your daily tasks.
  • Complete necessary documentation as directed by management.
  • Measure signal levels using field strength meters and troubleshoot installation issues.
  • Climb poles and use ladders safely as required.
  • Lift and transport heavy equipment as needed.
  • Maintain and operate company vehicles properly.
  • Promote additional services and products to customers.
  • Assist with clean-up and disposal of materials as necessary.

Qualifications:

  • No prior experience is necessary.
  • A high school diploma or GED is required.
  • A valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record is essential.
  • Basic mechanical knowledge and familiarity with consumer devices.
  • Strong communication skills for customer interaction.
  • Ability to work in various environmental conditions and at different heights.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Physical Demands:

  • Frequent handling of heavy objects and tools.
