Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team at Advocate Aurora Health. As a Respiratory Therapist, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive respiratory care to patients, including administering respiratory therapy procedures and modalities, and collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure the best possible patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer respiratory therapy procedures and modalities, including oxygen therapy, aerosol therapy, and mechanical ventilation.
  • Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans.
  • Conduct pulmonary function tests and other diagnostic procedures to assess patient respiratory function.
  • Provide education and training to patients and their families on respiratory care and disease management.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and safety.
Requirements
  • Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license issued by the state in which you practice.
  • Active Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential issued by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) within 12 months OR active Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) credential issued by the NBRC if credential received prior to January 1, 2023.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA).
  • Graduate from an accredited respiratory care program, with a minimum of an associate degree.
