Job Title: Para Educator

Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Para Educator to join our team at Mount Prospect Academy. As a Para Educator, you will play a vital role in supporting the educational development and enrichment of our students. You will work closely with our education team to ensure the safety and well-being of our students while participating in the education program.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist educators in creating a supportive and dynamic learning environment that caters to the diverse needs of our student body.
  • Provide supported instruction and assessment to students as outlined/assigned by the teacher in support of the assigned academic coursework or Individual Education Plan (IEP) needs.
  • Assist with behavioral interventions within the classroom as needed, modeling and using ARC principles.
  • Maintain appropriate documentation that may be assigned by the supervisor, such as attendance, incident reports, data entry, and daily academic reports.
  • Assist with monitoring and supervising transitional times, lunch, school beginning and ending activities for student accountability.
  • Participate in student meetings (such as IEPs and ITPs) as assigned by the Dean of Students or Academic Director.
  • Participate in staff meetings as required.
  • Maintain students' confidentiality at all times and report all pertinent information to the supervisor.

Requirements:

  • 21 years of age
  • Authorized to Work in the United States
  • Satisfactory background check
  • Associates Degree or Higher preferred
  • Prefer two years' experience interacting with children/youth
