Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in managing cash handling operations, including preparing cash drawers, processing loans, executing cash pulls, and coordinating deposits.
- Support the stocking of magazines and confectionery items on the front-end displays as necessary.
- Perform the duties of a cashier and/or customer service representative on a daily basis.
- Maintain familiarity with pricing procedures for Fresh Foods and Home & Garden products.
- Ensure the proper functioning of cash registers and back-office systems, reporting any technical issues to the Store Technology Lead.
- Review weekly sales promotions to stay informed about special offers.
- Participate in scheduled departmental inventory assessments.
- Supervise department operations in the absence of the Department Manager and Assistant Manager, including assigning tasks and scheduling breaks.
- Assist in training new employees on store policies, departmental procedures, and job responsibilities.
- Communicate any performance or training issues to the department manager.
- Adhere to established cleaning protocols within the department.
- Utilize knowledge of inventory and ordering systems to assist in procurement from approved suppliers.
- Understand all labeling and weighing systems thoroughly.
- Follow departmental guidelines to rectify pricing discrepancies.
Qualifications:
- Prior supervisory experience is preferred.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations, including addition and subtraction with multi-digit numbers and weights or currency.
- Must be able to frequently lift and/or move items weighing up to 30 pounds.
- Applicants must be at least 18 years of age.
