You will face ongoing challenges that require independent design capabilities and teamwork across various disciplines to create effective solutions tailored to our clients' needs. This position involves engaging with a diverse range of stakeholders, including land developers, project owners, designers, and regulatory agencies, across multiple sectors such as commercial, industrial, institutional, and public.

Key Responsibilities:

As a vital member of our team, you will:

  1. Understand project phases from initiation to completion.
  2. Serve as the technical lead for:
  • Preliminary Engineering Due Diligence.
  • Researching applicable codes and regulations for site and land development.
  • Creating Conceptual Plans based on due diligence and client specifications.
  • Developing Construction Plans utilizing Civil 3D, including site layout, grading, drainage, roadway design, stormwater management, and utility design.
  • Preparing necessary calculations, reports, and documentation.
  • Securing all required permits from various governmental agencies.
  • Coordinating with other technical disciplines as necessary.
  • Managing design teams to produce detailed construction documents.

Qualifications:

The successful candidate will have:

  • A B.S. in Civil Engineering or a related field from an ABET-accredited institution.
  • A minimum of 5 years of progressive design experience in site/civil development.
  • NC Professional Engineer license (or the ability to obtain it within one year if licensed elsewhere).
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D.
  • A proven ability to meet project deadlines and client expectations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • A collaborative approach to working in a team environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for effective communication with clients, colleagues, and regulatory staff.
  • Experience in hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, as well as stormwater report preparation.
