Job Summary

The Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) plays a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and services in their designated specialty. As a key member of the healthcare team, the CRNA must be able to provide consultative services to other providers and complete procedures entailing significant risk.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver a wide range of care and services in their designated specialty, ensuring the highest level of patient satisfaction and outcomes.
  • Provide consultative services to other providers, collaborating to ensure seamless patient care and effective treatment plans.
  • Treat patients with faithfulness, diligence, and skill, adhering to current acceptable standards of practice, state and federal laws, and accrediting body standards.
  • Consult with physicians on matters outside their scope of practice or professional specialty, ensuring comprehensive patient care.
  • Assist with training and education of students and other personnel within their professional specialty, promoting knowledge sharing and best practices.
  • Support emergency physicians in treating emergency department patients in a timely and efficient manner, prioritizing patient safety and well-being.
Requirements
  • Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing and an approved school of Nurse Anesthesia.
  • Eligibility for certification by the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists (AANA) and successful completion of the AANA national exam within twelve (12) months of hire.
  • Holds a current Registered Nurse (RN) license and has Advanced Practitioner status in the State of Kentucky, as well as current certification in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
