Job Description

Ultra Maritime is seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to lead development projects and collaborate with cross-functional teams. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for analyzing and reviewing equipment designs using 3D CAD models, developing and maintaining mechanical design and documentation practices, and providing proposal estimating for Mechanical Engineering efforts.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering and 8+ years of experience in Mechanical Engineering Design. Strong knowledge of drafting principles and standards, including GD&T, is required. Ability to obtain a US Government security clearance is also necessary.

Desired skills include experience with test equipment design, manufacturing engineering, and project management. Proficiency with CAD tools, product lifecycle management, and Microsoft Office is also required. Good communication and presentation skills, as well as a basic level of proficiency with machine tools, are essential.

  • Coordinate with suppliers, subcontractors, or customers on technical specifications, delivery requirements, and quotation parameters
  • Provide strong collaboration with the Sales and Manufacturing teams to align priorities
  • Understand the obligations and liabilities related to the contractual agreements made by the company

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering required
  • 8+ years' experience in Mechanical Engineering Design
