We are seeking a reliable and skilled Local Driver to join our team at Lynden Transport. As a Local Driver, you will be responsible for transporting cargo freight within Alaska, ensuring timely and safe delivery of goods.
Key Responsibilities:- Drive tractor and trailer combination or straight truck to transport cargo freight
- Pick-up, load, unload, and deliver cargo freight
- Ensure that all shipping documents required to move the shipment are available and complete
- Perform all duties in accordance with company policies and procedures, and comply with all Federal, State, and local regulations for the safe operation of a commercial motor vehicle
- Must have a high school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Must have a current, valid Commercial Drivers License (class A), with hazardous materials endorsement and may be required to obtain a doubles endorsement
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as hazardous materials shipping regulations, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Ability to present information and respond to questions from managers, customers, and the general public
The employee will regularly work in outside weather conditions and may work near moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
