Job Title: Local Driver

We are seeking a reliable and skilled Local Driver to join our team at Lynden Transport. As a Local Driver, you will be responsible for transporting cargo freight within Alaska, ensuring timely and safe delivery of goods.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Drive tractor and trailer combination or straight truck to transport cargo freight
  • Pick-up, load, unload, and deliver cargo freight
  • Ensure that all shipping documents required to move the shipment are available and complete
  • Perform all duties in accordance with company policies and procedures, and comply with all Federal, State, and local regulations for the safe operation of a commercial motor vehicle
Requirements:
  • Must have a high school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Must have a current, valid Commercial Drivers License (class A), with hazardous materials endorsement and may be required to obtain a doubles endorsement
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as hazardous materials shipping regulations, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
  • Ability to present information and respond to questions from managers, customers, and the general public
Working Conditions:

The employee will regularly work in outside weather conditions and may work near moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
