Sales Clerk Job Description

As a Sales Clerk with the Coast Guard Community Services Command, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service and sales support to our customers. Your primary duties will include:

Key Responsibilities:
  • Welcome and assist customers in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Maintain product knowledge and help customers select merchandise that meets their needs.
  • Process sales transactions accurately and efficiently.
  • Provide outstanding customer service, including resolving customer complaints and concerns.
  • Take periodic stock counts and participate in inventory management.
  • Replenish stock and maintain merchandise in a neat and presentable condition.
  • Operate a cash register and handle customer payments.
  • Maintain accurate records of sales and customer interactions.

Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous retail merchandising or cashier experience preferred.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and provide excellent customer service.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and stand for long periods.
