PRIMARY ROLE

The role involves overseeing the management of overdue accounts, conducting credit assessments, and evaluating credit exposure risks. Engaging with clients regarding payment timing and deductions is also a key responsibility.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assess overdue accounts and decide on the appropriate collection measures.
  • Distribute customer statements, aging reports, and reminders for collection purposes.
  • Utilize customer portals for invoice submissions, payment tracking, and deduction inquiries.
  • Analyze account balances to recommend for collection or write-off.
  • Maintain customer accounts by resolving deductions, processing invoices, and following up on outstanding items.
  • Initiate requests to customer service for resolving disputes.
  • Monitor orders on credit hold on an hourly basis.
  • Examine large customer purchase orders for accuracy.
  • Conduct credit evaluations for potential new clients and existing customers.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned.
  • Assist in month-end closing activities, generating reports, conducting analyses, and providing insights.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION:

A high school diploma or GED is required.

EXPERIENCE:

A minimum of 3 years in accounts receivable, credit, and collections is necessary.

KNOWLEDGE & PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES:
  • Familiarity with standard credit and collection policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while managing time effectively.
  • Capability to meet deadlines amidst regular interruptions.
  • Effective communication skills across all levels; with customers, colleagues, and management.
COMPUTER SKILLS:
  • Proficient in MS Excel and Word.
  • Ability to navigate the internet for freight carrier sites and customer portals.
  • Skilled in processing data and generating formatted reports.
  • Experience with ERP systems, such as SAP, is advantageous.
