About the Role

Nuvance Health is seeking a skilled Surgical Technician to join our team at Northern Dutchess Hospital in Rhinebeck, NY. As a Surgical Technician, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our surgical services environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collect and utilize data to prepare the surgical suite for specific procedures.
  • Apply basic and current knowledge to perform assigned functions.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of sterile/aseptic techniques.
  • Perform sponge, sharps, and instrument counts according to policy and procedure.
  • Maintain a safe surgical environment and verify sterile processing.
  • Provide safe patient care through clear communication and collegial working relationships.
  • Stay up-to-date with current trends and practices in the healthcare field.
  • Utilize materials and equipment in a safe, therapeutic, and cost-effective manner.
  • Participate in quality assurance audits and findings.
  • Maintain and model REACH Values (Respect, Excellence, Accountability, Compassion, Honor).
  • Demonstrate regular, reliable, and predictable attendance.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • PREFERRED: One (1) year of Operating Room surgical technician experience/surgical technician experience preferred.
