Job Overview

Under the guidance of the Service Manager, the Low Voltage Systems Specialist is tasked with diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing low voltage systems. This includes network infrastructure, surveillance systems, servers, NVRs, and access control hardware and software, as well as audio-visual technologies. The Specialist will also participate in the on-call service program, requiring a proactive individual with expertise in low voltage systems and exceptional customer service skills. A comprehensive understanding of troubleshooting, servicing, and repairing physical security surveillance and access control systems is essential. Additionally, the Specialist will serve as a dedicated resource, necessitating effective collaboration and communication with client leadership and personnel.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducts pre-work site assessments and safety evaluations to ensure a secure working environment.
  • Delivers exceptional customer service while upholding the highest service standards.
  • Demonstrates leadership in the field to achieve first visit resolutions.
  • Implements project plans while ensuring quality control and safety compliance.
  • Operates independently and makes informed decisions in the field.
  • Performs diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on low voltage systems in commercial and enterprise settings.
  • Tests all repairs on-site in accordance with established Service Operations and Engineering protocols.
  • Maintains accurate records of all work performed, including notes, photographs, and communications, in online tickets and timecards.
  • Participates in the regular on-call rotation for emergency service outside of standard hours.
  • Ensures the company vehicle is maintained according to company standards.
  • Maintains a professional appearance and demeanor at all times.
  • Follows client location standards for uniforms, identification, and security protocols.
  • Provides feedback for service improvement to the Field Superintendent or Service Manager.
  • Communicates scheduling conflicts with the Field Superintendent, Service Manager, and dispatchers.
  • Collaborates with on-site client leadership and trades to ensure quality work and adherence to timelines.
  • Performs additional related services as required on-site.
  • Other duties may be assigned as necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Audio Visual, Security, Intercom/Paging, and Infrastructure Cabling.
  • Familiarity with programming and technical commissioning guidelines.
  • Preference for candidates with a strong background in physical security.
  • Experience using test equipment such as Fluke testers, meters, and OTDR.
  • Knowledge of industry tools and equipment.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting capabilities.
  • Understanding of troubleshooting philosophies and procedures.
  • Familiarity with relay logic and troubleshooting techniques.

  • Position requires on-site presence Monday to Friday during client business hours.

  • Local travel may be necessary for off-site assignments.
  • Proficient in computer usage and applications.
  • Ability to manage physical demands, including lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs.
  • Capability to walk, sit, and stand for extended periods.
  • Must possess a clean driving record and a valid state driver's license.
  • Lift Certification is preferred.
