PRIMARY ROLE
Lead and manage the execution of various recreational initiatives, including Outdoor Connections, Tennis, and Pickleball programs. Responsibilities encompass overseeing program leaders, tennis coaches, and pickleball instructors, in addition to reviewing and managing daily lesson plans for all activities.
*Work hours may fluctuate to accommodate departmental needs, with a full-time commitment of up to 40 hours per week during peak seasons.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee assigned staff, including delegating tasks, assessing performance, enforcing discipline, and recommending personnel actions in accordance with departmental policies.
- Manage the traveling Outdoor Connection program at various locations, necessitating daily coordination of lesson plans and staff supervision.
- Supervise the tennis and pickleball programs, requiring a fundamental understanding of the rules and safety protocols of both sports.
- Organize all in-service training for staff and review daily lesson plans thoroughly.
- Prepare necessary documentation including incident reports, action reports, time sheets, attendance logs, work requests, and evaluation forms.
- Procure required supplies and equipment, ensuring all records and receipts for approved expenditures are submitted for programs and activities.
- Address community concerns effectively.
- Report any unlawful activities, vandalism, or hazardous conditions to the appropriate authorities and management.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Supervise seasonal AmeriCorps members, ensuring proper completion of weekly timesheets and documentation.
A high school diploma or equivalent, a minimum age of 18, and advanced coursework in education, recreation, or business management, alongside at least two years of experience in leading recreational programs or a comparable combination of experience and training that equips the candidate with the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities for the role. A valid driver's license is required. Candidates must successfully pass a criminal background check and driving record assessment to qualify for this position.
COMPENSATION
Starting hourly wage: $18.00
