Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Vascular Surgeon to join our team at Cleveland Medical Center. As a key member of our medical staff, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and contributing to the advancement of medical knowledge in the field of vascular surgery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care, including physical examinations, evaluations, assessments, diagnoses, and treatment for patients with vascular-related conditions.
  • Prescribe pharmaceuticals, other medications, and treatment regimens as appropriate to assessed medical conditions.
  • Refer patients to specialists and relevant patient care components as necessary.
  • Train and supervise medical students and residents engaged in vascular surgery activities and procedures.
  • Manage the daily operations of a specific medical program, patient care unit, or research function related to vascular surgery.
  • Direct and coordinate the patient care activities of nursing and support staff as required.
  • Follow established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives, continuous quality improvement objectives, and safety, environmental, and/or infection control standards.
  • Participate in specified health promotion, education, and/or prevention programs related to vascular surgery.
  • Maintain department productivity thresholds and faculty status in good standing with the CWRU SOM (if applicable).
  • Adhere to core physician obligations as outlined in the Physician Policy Manual.
Requirements
  • Doctorate Degree in Medicine or Osteopathy with an unrestricted license.
  • Appointment with CWRU SOM at the level commensurate with experience.
  • Fellowship Training in vascular surgery or a related field.
  • Knowledge of legal and ethical standards for the delivery of medical care.
  • Ability to maintain quality, safety, and/or infection control standards.
  • Knowledge of community medical diagnostic and patient care services in the area of vascular surgery.
  • Ability to supervise, advise, and train clinical professionals and/or students in vascular surgery.
  • Knowledge of relevant drugs and non-pharmaceutical patient care aids and ability to prescribe dosages and instruct patients in correct usage.
  • Ability to develop and present educational programs and/or workshops related to vascular surgery.
  • Knowledge of current principles, methods, and procedures for the delivery of medical evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment in vascular surgery.
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
  • Knowledge of related accreditation and certification requirements.
  • Ability to observe, assess, and record symptoms, reactions, and progress.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience using EPIC (preferred).
  • State of Ohio and Federal DEA Certification; Medical Specialty License or Certification; Board certified or Board eligible in Vascular Surgery.
