Job Title: Installation Mechanical Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Installation Mechanical Engineer to join our team at Konecranes Nuclear Equip and Services LLC. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and developing lifting equipment and machinery for the installation of cranes and material handling equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design lifting equipment and machinery in Solidworks, working in a structured 3D environment where sharing models between engineers is the norm.
  • Perform mechanical and structural calculations for custom lifting equipment, following applicable standards.
  • Develop rigging plans for moving crane components at the work site.
  • Properly annotate drawings with AWS D1.1 weld symbols, ANSI machining symbols, and other standardized signs to clearly illustrate your design for the customer and our manufacturing facilities.
  • Develop Bills of Materials (BOM) to itemize all the components of the mechanical design.
  • Collaborate with other disciplines to facilitate our turn-key projects, including electrical, structural, civil, installation crew, etc.
  • Interpret legacy crane drawings and facility drawings for planning the upgrades of existing equipment (modernizations).
  • Provide phone support and technical assistance when asked by our installation crew or customers.
  • Develop detailed technical specifications and procedures for customer use.
  • Assist in the load testing and functional testing of the lifting equipment.
Requirements:
  • Self-motivated and display leadership abilities.
  • Knowledge of ASME, AISC, and CMAA.
  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Structural, or Civil Engineering.
  • Minimum of five years of related experience, plus computer literacy in Excel and Word.
  • Knowledge of Solidworks or Pro-E is a requirement.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally, including entrance to nuclear power plants.
