A prominent player in the Building Materials sector is on the lookout for a Controls Automation Specialist to enhance operations in their facilities by consistently pinpointing areas for enhancement. In this role, you will take the initiative to refine processes and production techniques to better align with customer expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist production teams in addressing assembly and manufacturability challenges.
- Collaborate with shop floor personnel and support teams to troubleshoot manufacturing issues employing lean and six sigma principles.
- Evaluate and scrutinize existing methods and processes to propose enhancements.
- Ensure product and process excellence by developing testing protocols; assessing finished goods and process capabilities; setting standards; and validating manufacturing workflows.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and time management applications.
- Experienced with Rockwell Automation tools, including Studio5000 and FactoryTalk View Studio.
- Capable of engaging with external suppliers and co-designing components with vendors, or as guided by senior engineers.
- Fundamental understanding of manufacturing process enhancement techniques using engineering methodologies is advantageous, including Continuous Improvements, SQDCI, Lean Six Sigma, TPS, etc.
Educational Background and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
This position is available as a full-time night-shift role (4 days/week) or a full-time weekend-shift role (3 days/week).
