Job Overview

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement new functionalities, as well as maintain and enhance the Ghost Robotics robot controller application.
  • Address bugs, conduct regression testing, and optimize application performance.
  • Collect and analyze customer feedback, documenting and communicating functional requirements.
  • Collaborate with team members to create and execute user interface support for innovative robot behaviors.
  • Integrate app support for additional robotic features and sensors, including cameras.
  • Develop unit tests to ensure robustness, covering edge cases, usability, and reliability.
  • Work alongside UI/UX designers to refine app designs based on user feedback, ensuring alignment of visual and functional elements.
  • Perform other related tasks as assigned.
Qualifications

Essential Experience:

  • A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a reputable integration firm, consultancy, or product company.
  • At least four years of experience in developing Java Android applications.
  • Bachelor's degree in software engineering, computer engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in taking a mobile application from concept to production.
  • Familiarity with remote data handling via UDP, HTTP, REST APIs, and JSON.
  • Proficient in using Android Studio, Gradle, JNI, and Android resources.

Desirable Experience:

  • Experience with low-latency Android video playback technologies such as RTSP and MJPEG.
  • Knowledge of OpenGL for Android.
  • Familiarity with MAVLink UDP communications protocol.
  • Experience with robotics and mechatronic systems.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Educational Requirements

A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Software, Mathematics, Physics, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline is required. A minimum of three years of relevant work experience is preferred.
