Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Field Technician to install, operate, maintain, repair, and modify equipment at customer and/or field locations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electronics, mechanical systems, and technical support.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Install, operate, maintain, repair, and modify equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Perform a variety of maintenance and technical support tasks on products such as equipment, integrated systems, and subsystems.
  • Analyze and evaluate products and related performance to identify areas for improvement.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose malfunctions to eliminate problems in minimum time.
  • Install, upgrade, and remove products ensuring coordinated engineering field change.
  • Maintain effective customer communications and relations.
  • May provide onsite training of customer support personnel.
  • Perform depot level repairs, modifications, refurbishments of specific components of the Modernized Target Designation Sight/Pilotage Night Vision System (M-TADS/PNVS).
  • Perform soldering to J-STD-001, IPC-7711/IPC-7721 standards.
  • Perform electrical rework/repair of cable harnesses, electrical wires, and circuit card assemblies.
  • Operate automated or general-purpose test equipment (oscilloscopes, multi-meters, network analyzers, and waveform generators) and use knowledge of basic AC/DC theory to read, interpret engineering drawings and schematics to conduct fault isolation of faulty components.
  • Complete work in accordance with engineering drawings, schematics, Repair Component Procedures (RCPs), Field Advisory Bulletins (FABs), and Contactor Installation Procedures (CIPs).
  • Document work in automated maintenance data collection systems in accordance with Apache Fire Control processes and procedures.
  • Perform test and checkout of mechanical, electrical, structural, hydraulic subsystems, and complete systems.
Requirements:
  • High School diploma or equivalent experience/combined education with additional technical training sufficient to perform preventive and demand maintenance tasks and a minimum of 1 year of experience.
  • Ability to lift 35 pounds.
  • Ability to adapt to dynamic and frequently changing customer requirements.
  • Ability to understand policies and procedures for the control of Government property.
  • Ability to work with hazardous materials.
  • Ability to mix and weigh chemicals.
  • Ability to properly safety wire assemblies and connectors.
  • Ability to solder and repair cables and harnesses.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of programs.
Desired Skills:
  • Solder certification to J-STD-001, IPC-7711/IPC-7721.
