Job Overview

PRIMARY ROLE

  • Oversees, coordinates, and manages all unit operations within the production sector to enhance and sustain manufacturing methodologies, operational efficiencies, and product excellence.
  • Leads the execution of facility-level policies and production department protocols while ensuring adherence to labor agreements.
  • Offers technical assistance for initiatives concerning scope definition, design, initiation, and assessment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Assists and collaborates with the Production Superintendent in the following areas:

  • Advancement of corporate and facility objectives.
  • Plans, directs, and supervises the activities of Production Supervisors, Process Control Supervisors, and Operators to optimize production, quality, safety, and cleanliness while minimizing costs and downtime, in compliance with environmental regulations.
  • Formulates and enacts suitable policies and procedures to facilitate production operations.
  • Establishes reactor and wet process operational parameters.
  • Schedules and organizes maintenance for production machinery.
  • Conducts inspections of unit equipment, preparing regular reports on operational status and production metrics.
  • Collaborates with maintenance teams or contractors to ensure the quality and efficiency of repairs performed on units.
  • Educates departmental staff on techniques, methodologies, and SPC regulations.
  • Evaluates and resolves production process issues to enhance performance and address challenges.
  • Generates and presents reports to plant management regarding production output, quality metrics, operational summaries, downtime, personnel matters, and environmental compliance.
  • Provides chemical engineering expertise to the department and plant through process design and optimization initiatives.
  • Analyzes process capability data and implements corrective and preventive measures to drive continuous improvement and reduce quality costs.
  • Undertakes special projects as directed by plant management.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering is mandatory.
  • A minimum of 5 years of pertinent experience in a chemical or manufacturing environment.
  • Green Belt certification is preferred.
  • Proficient in the scientific method, MS Office Suite, Project Management software, and AutoCAD.
  • Strong communication skills are essential.
