Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Mid-Level Transmission Planning Engineer to join our team at RightWorks Staffing. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading network studies for utilities and ISOs, interfacing with engineers to prepare computer-based models, and conducting various power system studies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead network studies for utilities and ISOs
  • Interface with engineers to prepare computer-based models
  • Conduct various power system studies: feasibility, system impact, reactive compensation, stability, planning, short circuit, load flow, interconnection, and power factor correction
  • Engage in proposal writing and customer interactions to develop new opportunities
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in transmission planning system studies
  • Ability to lead system impact studies
  • Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal
  • 3+ years of experience with PSS/E
  • Project leadership and mentoring experience
  • Familiarity with ERCOT interconnection processes
  • Willingness to travel up to 10%
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering or related field
  • 5+ years of experience with PSS/E
  • 7-10 years of experience in transmission planning studies
  • PE registration or equivalent
  • Experience with additional software: PSLF, TARA, PSCAD, Aspen Oneliner, ETAP, Power World
  • Coding and automation skills
