Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Respiratory Therapist to join our team as a Lead Respiratory Therapist. This is a 40 hour per week, night shift position that requires a strong background in respiratory care and leadership skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide respiratory care to patients, including administering aerosolized medications and drawing and analyzing arterial blood gases.
  • Consult with physicians to determine the most effective forms of therapy and make recommendations to enhance patient care.
  • Monitor patient physiological responses to therapy and consult with physicians if adverse reactions occur.
  • Provide emergency care, including assisting with intubation, Rapid Response Team, High Risk Delivery and Code Team.
  • Inspect, test, clean and maintain respiratory therapy equipment.
  • Provide clinical and general guidance to new staff, other healthcare personnel, patients, and patient's families.
  • Directly supervise respiratory therapy students.
  • Set up and operate devices such as basic oxygen therapy, mechanical ventilators, CPAP/Bi-level support, NIPPV, high flow oxygen therapy.
  • Maintain all necessary patient and department records on the electronic medical record and medical administration record.
  • Participate in departmental quality assurance programs.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of current techniques, developments, and issues in respiratory care.
Requirements
  • Associate of Science in Respiratory Care.
  • Current Certificated Respiratory Therapist (CRT) credential issued by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).
  • Current Massachusetts State Respiratory Care License.
  • Basic Life Support required.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (required within 3 months of employment).
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (required within 3 months of employment).
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (required within 3 months of employment).
  • Valid and unrestricted driver's license recognized by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and access to a reliable, insured vehicle.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist.
  • Bachelor of Science or higher.

This position requires working indoors and is subject to the physical demands and environmental conditions listed below.
