Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Special Education Paraprofessional to join our team at Thomas Jefferson High School. As a key member of our educational support staff, you will play a vital role in ensuring the academic, behavioral, and social-emotional success of our students with disabilities.

Responsibilities
  • Support the educational and behavioral needs of middle and high school level students with disabilities in integrated, resource, self-contained, and community settings.
  • Assist in conducting testing and assessment, multimedia activities, record-keeping, computer operation, discipline, and other activities as needed.
  • May assist with lifting and transporting students, as well as daily living activities such as toileting, diapering, feeding, and personal hygiene as trained and directed.
Requirements
  • Some positions may require the transportation of students, in which case a valid Colorado driver's license, auto insurance, and a good driving record are required.
  • Provide instruction for students with emotional disabilities with an emphasis on instruction for behavioral skills, social skills, and academic skills.
  • Have the ability with or without accommodations to meet the physical demands of the position.
