Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Mental Health Care Specialist to join our team at Rady Children's Hospital San Diego. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide individualized nursing care to patients and families under the direction of a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practitioner.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct basic assessment skills and data collection to inform patient care plans.
  • Participate in planning and executing interventions in accordance with the plan of care.
  • Contribute to the evaluation of outcomes and adjust care plans as needed.
  • Educate and communicate patient care plans to patients and families.
Requirements
  • A High School Diploma, GED, or foreign equivalent is required.
  • One year of experience in a healthcare setting is necessary.
  • Licensure as a Licensed Psychiatric Technician or Licensed Vocational Nurse (California) is required.
  • BLS for Healthcare Providers, issued by AHA, must be maintained.
Preferred Qualifications
  • An Associate's Degree is preferred.
  • Three years of experience in an acute care medical/psych setting is desired.
  • Bilingual Spanish proficiency is highly valued.
Compensation and Benefits

The current salary range for this position is $27.45 to $38.75 per hour. Salary placement will be determined based on collective bargaining agreement terms. We strive to be externally competitive and internally equitable, reviewing market data to ensure fairness. This posting will remain open until we determine there is a sufficient applicant pool or the position is filled.
